Ray Bacon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and handyman, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 8, 2020, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ray was born on December 31, 1940, in Sterling, Nebraska, to Burl and Ruby Mae Bacon. Ray worked in the insurance industry in Nebraska and Iowa for many years before moving to Scottsdale in 2003, where he started his own pool and home care business, a calling he enjoyed much more than insurance. Over the course of his lifetime, he had many hobbies, including car racing, gardening, reading, rooting for the Huskers and the Suns, and complaining about the traffic and the weather. Above all, however, he loved his family. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 47 years, Mary; his four children, Paula, Teri, John, and Joel and their spouses; his grandchildren, Haley (and her spouse), Ethan, and Allison; his siblings Boyd and Bonita and their spouses; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. His parents and two grandsons, Chad Jr. and Daniel predeceased him.
