high and high school sweetheart on Christmas Day, 1969. The attended their first Christmas dance in 1961 at the Old Academy in Fairmount. She was 12 and he was 13. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. A totally family-oriented husband and father, he raised his two daughters on the same country block that he hunted, camped, and fished on as a child. He enjoyed gardening, and was respectful of wildlife and nature. He was an avid reader of history. Through the years, Terry never failed to help a friend or neighbor in need. He will be remembered for his generous heart and compassion toward others. He had a mantra he often shared with his family: "everyone thinks differently". It was this open-minded outlook on life that made him a beloved friend and mentor to younger generations. Arrangements have been entrusted the the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Memorial and graveside services will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) or the American Red Cross.
