Arthur J. Coffey

Arthur J. Coffey, age 79, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family, on Friday, November 6th, 2020 at 2:22 am. He was born on February 28th, 1941 in Staten Island, NY to William and Julia (Benaducci) Coffey. He attended college, and married Joan (DiMaggio) Coffey, whom he met from the neighborhood back in grade school. Art served in the Army, joined the NYPD and was quickly promoted to Narcotics. After retiring from the police force, his entrepreneurial spirit drove him to open a donut shop in Pittsburgh, PA as well as a general maintenance business in Matawan, NJ. Art's most precious roles in life were as Joan's husband, father to his daughter Debra and son Arthur, and grandfather to Bryce, Kyle and Brianna, not to mention the countless extended family members. As a longstanding member to his faith and the Roman Catholic Church, Art joined the Knights of Columbus on November 1st, 1962, rising to 4th Degree Knight and ultimately Grand Knight, dedicating his life to the principles (or degrees) of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.
