Dale W. Yeoman

Dale William Yeoman was born January 13, 1937 in Renwick, son of George W. and Olive D. (Palmer) Yeoman. He grew up in Corwith graduating from Corwith High School in 1955. He then attended the University of Iowa from 1955 to 1959 studying Botany and proudly playing on the University's baseball team. Dale then served his country in the United States National Guard during the Vietnam War being stationed stateside. Dale was married to Mary Lou Hoover on September 2, 1962 at the Doan Methodist Church. He then began farming in the Corwith area until his retirement in 2018. Mary Lou preceded him in death in 1977. On August 6, 1988, Dale was married to Marcia (Fish) Ewing at the Corwith United Methodist Church. Dale enjoyed fishing, dancing, going to the theatre, watching the Hawkeyes & and was a loyal Cubs fan. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Corwith United Methodist Church and the Corwith American Legion. Dale passed away Friday, November 27, 2020, at the age of 83. and Kristine (Jeff) Landolt of Livermore; two step-sons, Randy (Deb) Ewing of Daytona Beach, FL, and Jason (Linda) Ewing of Otho; seven grandchildren, Alissa Martin (fiancé David Phillips of Fort Dodge, Colin Martin of Des Moines, Ashley Yeoman of Wesley, Justine (Tyler) Garman of Algona, Courtney Yeoman of Des Moines, Halie Landolt of Grimes, and Brandon Landolt a student at ISU in Ames; and a great-grandson, Logan Yeoman. He is also survived by four brothers-in-law, Jim Siebrands of Dumont, Alan (Alice) Fish of Gilbert, AZ, and Nels (Paula) Fish of Arlington, WA, Steven Schooley of Iowa City, and sister-in-law, Sheryl Fish of Caldwell, ID; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Mary Lou; and three sisters, Pauline (Ben) Widen, Dorothy Siebrands, and Gladys (Robert) Mitchell. Private family graveside services will be held Friday, December 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the Corwith Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Elmer Wilson American Legion Post #229 of Corwith. The graveside service will be livestreamed for the public on Oakcrest Funeral Sevices' Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Marcia at 2213 East Spruce St., Algona, IA 50511, or through the 'Support Family" link on his obituary page.
