Virginia "Ginny" F. Knoll, 101, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will bee 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2020, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services with a 10:00 a.m. Rosary at the funeral Home. Interment will be at 1:15 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2020, at Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided for both Virginia and her husband, Anthony. Her father Charles was a former Chief of Police for Marshalltown. Ginny graduated from St. Marys High School in Marshalltown. She received her nursing diploma from St. Thomas Mercy Nursing School in Marshalltown. Ginny served her country in the United States Army Nursing Corp during WWII. She was united in marriage to Anthony Knoll on June 15, 1948, in Marshalltown. Ginny was a homemaker. She was a member of the Marshalltown American Legion. ...[more]

ny was a former member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and current member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Bremer, IA Ginny loved music which was demonstrated in her piano playing and in her lovely singing voice. As a homemaker she loved cooking, gardening and canning. She taught herself to sew and took pride in her many creations. Ginny had a generous spirit and the staff and other residents at the Iowa Veterans Home would attest to her sweet disposition and grateful appreciation for the care she was given while living there. Ginny will be missed by a son, Tim Knoll, of Marshalltown, two daughters; Pamela (Paul) Kavanaugh, of Brownsville, TX, Pat (Dennis) Anderson, of Haverhill, IA, five grandchildren; Shawn (Jen) Anderson, Mark (Katya) Anderson, Lisa Donahue, Emily (Ricardo Perez) Kavanaugh, Jonah Kavanaugh; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and nine brothers and sisters.
