North Augusta, SC--Private Graveside Services for Mrs. Ruth Salter Ballard, 101, who entered into rest December 22, 2020, will be conducted in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Dr. T. Joseph Lusk officiating. Mrs. Ballard was born May 16, 1919, in Sandersville, Georgia, to the late Andrew Tarver and Willie Brown Salter. She was a former resident of Bartow, Georgia, having made North Augusta her home for the past 75 years. Mrs. Ballard was the oldest living member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was one of the first women graduates of the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy and the first female pharmacist in Augusta having worked at Lane Liggett Drugs, University Hospital and retiring from Eckerd's Drug. Mrs. Ballard was also predeceased by her husband, Wave Wilder Ballard and a sister, Teresa Harper.
