Carole Anne (Shadwell) Shaw March 30, 1940-December 21 ,2020 Carole Anne Shaw went to the Lord on December 21, 2020. Her passing was unexpected. She was born March 30, 1940 in Los Angeles, California. Carole was the second eldest daughter of Leonard Mitchell & Barbara Rose (Swagger Cooney) Shadwell. Carole graduated from St. Anthony High School in Long Beach, California in 1958. After graduation she went to work for General Telephone Company (GTE) where she met her husband Richard "Rick" M. Shaw. They were married 51 years. Carole and Rick lived in Huntington Beach, California and moved to Cerritos, California in 1970 where they raised their three children, Leonard (Lenny), Nannette & Richard. After leaving the phone company (GTE) Carole went on to have a career at Jersey Maid Milk, Co. alongside her father ("Slim"). She then became a successful Real Estate Agent and Broker. anies. Carole loved working, she never truly planned on retiring herself. She tried it out for a couple of years but decided to go back to work. Carole lived in Las Vegas for 27 years. After her husband's passing, she moved to Texas to be closer to her daughter and was working full time for Stewart Title in Frisco, Texas at the time of her passing. When Carole was not working, she enjoyed sewing, playing Bingo, traveling, listening to Elvis, watching sports and spending time with her neighbors, friends, family, and her dog Cookie. Carole was a lifelong Elvis fan and even made the news in Las Vegas, for her "Elvis Room". A guest room dedicated to the King, she decorated with all her Elvis memorabilia. She also enjoyed having a Christmas tree in her office with her Elvis ornaments. Her car license plate even read "King77". Carole was a working mom before it became common place because she genuinely loved working. She was extremely intelligent and did not shy away from a challenge. She was dedicated to her parents, family, and friends. Her nieces and nephews would seek her counsel. She was that aunt. Her grandkids lovingly referred to her as Vegas Grandma a title she proudly embraced. She loved to have flashy nails, fast cars and enjoyed the bling. Carole was a woman who lived life on her own terms. She was strong of mind and spirit. She was tough and loving. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She found ways to find joy in life in every season, even through the sorrow. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family but not forgotten. In addition to her parents, Carole is predeceased by her husband Richard (Las Vegas, NV); son Leonard (Kingman, AZ); granddaughter Tiffany (Austin, TX); sister Margaret Pringle (Las Vegas, NV); brother Richard Shadwell (Warsaw, MO). Carole is survived by her daughter Nannette Gantt and husband James of Allen, TX and her son Richard Shaw and wife Mary of Norco, CA; Nine Grandchildren: Jessica, Leonard (Susan), Lauren, Glenn (Danielle), Alyxandrea"Ally"(Justin), Heather, Jamie, Jimmy(Lorna), Ciaran; 16 Great-Grand Children: Alexis, Matthew, Olivia, Elijah, Noah, Lilyann, Annabelle, Matilynn, Cash, Presley, Adam, Xander, Isaac, Olivia, Jonathan ,Kaylynn. Great-Great Grandson: Elliott; Sister Maryellin Baughman; Sister Laurie Hines-Walker(Christopher); and many nieces and nephews. A service and memorial in Carole's honor will be held a later date.
