Conrad L. Geise

Conrad Lynn Geise, age 81, of Quincy, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 7:40 pm in his home with family. Conrad was born December 10, 1939 in Quincy, son of Eugene and Iola Schuecking Geise. He married Sharon Ann Kistner on October 28, 1961 in Quincy. She survives with five of their six children, Curtis, Eric, Cory, Christian (deceased), Tara and Anna, and seven grandchildren. Conrad is survived by three siblings Robert Geise (of Mountain View, CA) Mary Fischer and Thomas Geise (of Quincy). Conrad's earliest years included working at the local Maid-Rite restaurant of which his parents shared ownership. He graduated Notre Dame high school in 1957 and served in the US Army between 1957 and 1961 in the communications field with a tour in Thule, Greenland where he supported the Early Warning Radar System in protection of the US and her allies. After discharge he returned to Quincy to work in various occupations including the sales and service of Singer sewing machines and Culligan water softeners. his wife opened a west side sandwich shop, The Crumble Hut, and operated it for seven years offering both good food and the Good News. His last adventure was management of a Bandag franchise truck tire retreading facility in Huntsville, MO in association with long-time friend Ronald Wellman, owner of Ron's Tire. After more than twenty years in the industry he retired from the operation in 2009 after it had moved to Barry, IL and he had returned to life in Quincy. Throughout the final forty years of his life Conrad preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to all that crossed his path, sharing the good news of man's redemption and rebirth by the acceptance of Christ's sacrifice on Calvary. To Conrad, this above all eclipsed his adventures and accomplishments in his long life. His respected advice and opinion and helpful hand will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
