Clayton Rost MUSCATINE - Clayton H. Rost, 77, of Muscatine died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Rev. Beverly Ingham Birtcher will officiate. Burial will be at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a luncheon at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home community room following the service. Paul bearers will be Dennis Marolf, Jim Brown, Dave Brown, Ben Brown, John McSwiggin and Paul Emery. Visitation will be from 4 - 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine County Parents Association for the Hearing Impaired. Mr. Rost was born May 21, 1922, in Muscatine County, the son of Frederick and Nellie Weikert Rost. He married Marilyn Sadie Fisher on Jan. 17, 1943 in Muscatine. A lifelong resident of the Muscatine area, he was a graduate of the Wilton Jct. High School. He farmed and was a member of the Peace United Methodist Church of Wilton, President of the Muscatine County Farm Bureau and was very active in the Farm Bureau until the time of his retirement. Survivors include his wife Marilyn of Muscatine; one daughter, Sharon Miller and her husband Ray of Lake Ozark, Mo.; two grandchildren, Christopher Miller and his wife Janelle, and Dustin Clayton Miller; two step grandchildren, Angela Stych and her husband Michael, and Dora Sears and her husband Kirk; five step great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Rost and wife Shirley of Michigan; brother-in-law Lauren Fisher of Muscatine; two nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Larry Rost.
