Obituary of William D Stroka UPDATE: Memorial Service for Bill will be held at 7 Fallkill Rd., Hyde Park, NY on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 from 1 to 5 pm. William D "Bill" Stroka, 63, of Red Hook and a longtime Rhinebeck resident, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on May 23rd, 1957, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Annie (Duscher) Stroka. Bill married Patricia Mielich on October 11, 1984 at Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck, NY, and Patty survives him at home. For over thirty years, Bill worked in sales and repair for Nichols Oxygen Service based in Hyde Park, NY. In addition to raising his family and his love of farming and model railroading, Bill was a faithful and dedicated life member of the Rhinebeck Fire Department. During his 44 years of service to the Rhinebeck Fire Department, he served as President of the Department as well as firefighter, driver and engineer.
