Evelyn Matthews Freeze age 89 of Gainesville passed away Tuesday January 5, 2020 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville. Evelyn was born February 7, 1931 in Gainesville to the late Theodore Julian & Belle Sparks Matthews. She was retired from Warren Featherbone and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Rameriz. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Docherty; sons, James Edward Freeze & Charles Randolph "Randy" Freeze; grandchildren, Michael Remsneyder, Christopher Remsneyder, Ryan Freeze & Brett Freeze; nephew, Melvin Durham; nieces, Sandra Hayes & Judy Durham. Private family graveside services will be held Friday at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ryan Phillips will officiate.
