John (Jack) M. Presley Jr. age 96, of Brighton, Michigan died Friday, January 8, 2021 at the University of Michigan Hospital after a brief Illness. John was born on September 30, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Mary Lawrena (Lehman) Presley. Growing up in Detroit, Michigan with his Brother Donald and Maria Presley. On March 19, 1943 he entered the US Navy. Enrolled at NTS Great Lakes, IL. LCS San Diego, AFBP & TC Navy 152 Stcu18 (standard Landing craft) which include many boat pools together. John served in Boat Pool 14, Manus and in NTS Class Electricians School and Camp Perry, VA. He had temporary duty on the Mobjack as Maintenance Electrician. On March 20, 1944 he was in USS boat pool on Emirau Island. He also was on the USS Calloway when the Navy invaded Emirau Island in the South Pacific. In Boat Pool - 15 at Manus Island. Jack studied Industrial Psychology at Gross Ile Naval station. Radio electronics TV school, Electrical Engineering Camp Perry, VA. After returning from the Navy, on June 6, 1946 he found Marilyn having a day of fun at Rouge pools with her sisters. They fell in love and were married on November 15, 1947 in Redford, Michigan. rs and had seven children. Jack was a skilled electrician and a Jack of all trades. Starting an early career in Phoenix Arizona at Mountain States Telegraph and Telephone. Then back to Michigan at Electro Mechanical Device, later merged with George L. Nankervis. Western Electric, then Cox Instrument. Jack and Marilyn bought a beautiful home on Rainy Lake in Millersburg, Michigan, April 1985 and retired there full time in 1987. When the winters became too much they traveled out West in their 5th wheel eventually retiring to their home in Winter Haven, Florida. After Marilyn died John sold his house on Rainy Lake and moved to a condo in Howell. For the past 14 months John has resided at Brighton Manor an assisted living home. John was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Presley and son Daniel. John leaves behind his children, Laura Curlee, Linda Bailey (Jon), Cynthia Jean (Bob), John (Carol), Susan Hanagan (Kevin), and Kurt (Kelly). Grandchildren, Ann Dicks (George), Jason Curlee(Courtney), Todd Bailey(Libby), Erin Copp (Justin), Chris Misiak (Missy), Jill, Holly, Kevin Presley, Daniel Presley(Cassandra), Lea Angela(Dale), Corey Presley, Elle Presley(Joe). Great Grandchildren, Jacob and Jonah Curlee, Olivia Bailey, Everly Copp, Rachel and Lydia Misiak, Kimberly, Emma, Annabeth, Phoenix, Elizabeth Mae-Rose Presley, Dominic Bradbury, Gena Michels, Peighton England. Sister, Maria Presley Siebertz (Peter). He has left an empty hole in our hearts, and he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
