Robert Miller MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Robert 0. Miller, 70, of Davenport passed away Monday Jan. 1, 2001, at Genesis East, Medical Center. A Masonic Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date, in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Mr. Miller was born April 10, 1930, in Muscatine, the son of Frank and Harriett Steniger Miller. He married Bonnie Gordon on Nov. 20, 1965, in Davenport. He received his electrical engineering degree at Fort Lewis, Wash. He served as Master Sgt. in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II and also during the Korean Conflict. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre for two tours of duty. He was employed by Iowa Illinois Electric for 15 years and then worked as an expeditor for Shaw Electric from 1965 to 1972. He owned and operated his own business, ROM Electric from 1972 until 1988. He retired in 1998 as an electrical inspector for the City of Davenport after 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, of Davenport; one son, Douglas and his wife, Diane Miller of Arizona; four daughters, Judith Miller of Colorado, Suzanne Jordan of Davenport, Kristi Ramirez and her husband, Frank, of Davenport and Lori Roby and her husband, Shawn, of Arizona; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Art and Larry Miller of Muscatine, and Gary Miller of Fond Du Lac, Wis.; two sisters, Pat Berry and Joyce Strause of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard.
