Robert Larson WEST LIBERTY, Iowa #45;- Robert Paul Larson, 71, died Sunday Jan. 27, 2001, at his home following several months of illness. A public prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. The Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of local arrangements. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Fred C. Olson Funeral Home, 1001 Second Ave. and 6th Street in Rockford, Ill. Burial will be held at Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fred. C. Olson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Iowa City Hospice or in memory of Robert P. Larson. Mr. Larson was born April 21, 1929, in Rockford, the son of Edward T. and Mabel P. Larson. He was married to H. Luella Anderson on Oct. 30, 1954, at Bethesda Covenant Church in Rockford. He was a 1946 graduate of East High School in Rockford and received his bachelor's from Augustana College in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1952. rnes in the accounting department and as personnel manager from 1950 to 1970. He moved to West Liberty and was employed with Louis Rich Foods as personnel director from 1970 until 1976. He was employed with the State of Iowa working with IPERS until his retirement in 1995. He was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rockford and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty where he was very active in the church serving on the church council and many committees. He was a member of the West Liberty Country Club and was an avid golfer. He was past president of the West Liberty Chamber of Commerce and a past member of Junior Achievement in Rockford. Survivors include his wife, H. Luella Larson of West Liberty; two sons, Larry R. Larson of Des Moines, Gary L. Larson and his wife, Nanette, of Valparaiso, Ind.; three grandchildren, David, Tess and Daniel; a sister, Helen Nordby of Rockford, Ill.; and a brother, Russell Larson of Greensboro, N. C. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
