Robert Hill LODI, California - Robert D. Hill, 76, of Lodi, Calif., formerly of Davenport, died Jan. 26, 2001, at the Delta Convalescent Hospital in Lodi. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. The Rev. John Mattingly of the First Baptist Church in Joy will officiate. Burial will be at the Aledo Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be sent to the John Lewis Coffeehouse in Davenport. Mr. Hill was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Boden, Ill., the son of John and Elizabeth Schoenig Hill. He married Lela C. in September of 1949 and later married Margie A. in March of 1979. He attended AIC in Davenport and received his associates degree in California. He was employed as a Cab Driver for Yellow Cab and Royal Blue Cab in the Quad Cities for many years. For more than 25 years he was employed as a manager of hotels and motels including the Davenport Hotel and was also employed in the aerospace industry. He was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lodi, was a past member of the Elks Club and Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing. Davenport; a son, Robert Jr. of Wilsall, Mont.; stepsons, Sheldon and Mark Stineman of Wapello, and Darin Stineman of Denver, Colo.; stepdaughters, Shirley Kinnon of Burbank, Calif. and Sharon Hendren of Davenport; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Hill Sr. of Aledo and Gary Hill of North Henderson and a sister, Ruth Veeder of Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Roger.
