DELLA MONSON MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Della B. Monson, 87, of 815 Leroy St., died Friday, October 12, 2001, at the Muscatine Care Center. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Grace Lutheran Church, 2107 Cedar St. The Rev. Leif Pohl will officiate. Pallbearers will be Cecil Sells, Ben Sells, Dan Haeffner, Don Mahraun, Mel Cooley, and John Monson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church or the Muscatine Care Center. Mrs. Monson was born on November 16, 1913, in Muscatine, the daughter of Frank and Maude McConnaha Windman. She married George E. Monson on Feb. 12, 1936, in Muscatine. She was a graduate from Browns Business College in 1929. She and her husband, George, retired from farming after 45 years, and moved into town in 1980. She is a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the Bloomington Grange, the Bloomington Township Homemakers, and the Farm Bureau. She loved her family and she enjoyed baking bread and pies. Glen E. Monson and his wife, Denise, of Dixon, Illinois, and David G. Monson and his wife, Susan, of Council Bluffs; five grandchildren, Debbie Sells and her husband, Cecil, Susan Hughes and her husband, Randy, John Monson and his wife, Jennifer, Steven Monson and Cory Monson; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Mahraun of Muscatine and Helen Winings and her husband, Gene, of Watkins, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Nancy Monson and a sister, Vella Cooley Miller.
