John Kile WEST LIBERTY, Iowa #45;- John M. Kile, 87, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at West Liberty United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Rescue Unit or the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Mr. Kile was born July 27, 1914, in rural West Liberty, the son of George and Emma Burr Kile. He married Opal Forbes Dec. 16, 1939. He graduated from West Liberty High School in 1933. He farmed and raised purebred Angus cattle in the Lone Tree and West Liberty area, retiring and moving to West Liberty in 1967. After moving to West Liberty, he worked several years at Farm Service. He was a member and served on the board of the Eastern Iowa Angus Association, a 4-H leader, superintendent at the Muscatine County Fair, Honorary fair member, Honorary Chapter FFA member, member and served on the West Liberty Country Club Board and a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church.
