Donald Huff BEMIDJI, Minn. - Donald Ray Huff, 65, of Bemidji died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at his son, Don's, home following a battle with liver cancer. There will be no formal memorial service and his family requests no flowers. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and buried at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine. Memorials may be given to the Franciscan Skemp Hospice to be used for a future hospice house. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska, Wis. is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Huff was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Keokuk, the son of Ross and Myrtle Fields Huff. He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1954 and was a guard on the 1954 state championship basketball championships. He attended Muscatine Junior College, where they won two state basketball championships. He then went to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, where they won two basketball and baseball conference championships. He received a master degree in education from Bemidji State in Bemidji and taught school for 35 years in Atkins and Clinton. He enjoyed his life working with students and athletes. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, the former Ann Wigim; a son, Don and wife Deb of Onalaska; two grandchildren, Jordan 'J.R.' and Drew 'D.B.,' both of Onalaska; a sister, Ella Mae Bunn and husband Dick of Muscatine; and a brother, Joe and wife Shirley of Muscatine.
