James L. Mulvihill

James Mulvihill MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- James L. Mulvihill, 84, Muscatine, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Lutheran Homes. According to his wishes his body was donated to The University of Iowa College of Medicine. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Mr. Mulvihill was born May 29, 1917, in Muscatine, the son of James and Mary DePron Mulvihill. He married Laura Mae Shields April 27, 1939, in Hannibal, Mo. He later married Thelma McMurphy Garvin Dec. 10, 1968, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Plumbers Union. He owned and operated his own plumbing shop in Muscatine for many years, retiring when he was 81-years-old. He enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Thelma of Wilton; a son, James Mulvihill and wife Carol of Golden, Colo.; two daughters, Mary Lou Hagmeier and husband John of West Liberty and Laura Lee Bird and husband Dale of Montpelier; two stepsons, Darell Garvin of Albuquerque, N.M. and Dean Garvin and wife Beverly of Muscatine; a stepdaughter, Sandra Marshall and husband John of Wilton; six grandchildren; 1...[more]
