Marylou Schmidt MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Marylou H. Schmidt, 82, Bickford Cottage, 2807 Cedar St., died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002. Memorial services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Church, 2900 Mulberry Ave. Memorials to be made to 'The Journey' for the future home of Calvary Church. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Schmidt was born on on Aug. 15, 1920, in Philadelphia, Penn., the daughter of Joseph and Mary Henderson Hemple. She married Dr. Frank A. Schmidt on Nov. 19, 1946, at the Chapel of the Grove City College, Grove City, Penn. While residing in Dubuque, she was a member of the Dubuque Bible Church in which she began the Christian Women's Club and was active in Bible study, acted as choir director and taught Sunday school. She was later a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church of Dubuque, the Calvary Church of Muscatine and the Gidean's Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, David H. Schmidt and his wife, Gale, of Muscatine and Gary A. Schmidt and his wife, Rebecca, of Naperville, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Tara, Ben, Jeremy and Gretchen Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents. [more]
