Stella Barnes TIPTON, Iowa #45;- Stella Caroline Barnes, 95, of 1200 Mulberry St., Tipton, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Pallbearers are Monty Ibsen and Brett Eggert. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established. Mrs. Barnes was born on April 16, 1907, in Tipton, the daughter of Earl and Mary Ida Olson McLain. She married Marion Barnes in 1936 in Marion. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1926. She was a hairdresser for 50 years. She was a charter member of Tipton Business and Professional Women and a member of the Methodist faith. Survivors include a nephew, Brett Eggert of Tipton; nieces, Merry Ibsen of Iowa City, Karol Kupka of Chicago, Kristine Bushnell of Evenston, Ill., Karen Patterson of Connecticut and Kathy Presson of Huntsville, Ala.; and a sister, Eva Brown of Tipton.
