Mary Emrich TIPTON, Iowa #45;-Mary Jean Emrich, 66, of 1125 210th St., Tipton, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Church of Christ, Tipton. The Rev. David Lorenzen will officiate. Burial will be at Woodbridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Mrs. Emrich was born on June 30, 1936, in Davenport, the daughter of James Delaplane and Jean Elizabeth Hahn France. She married Ronald James Emrich on Aug. 2, 1958, in Tipton. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1954. She attended Stephens College in Missouri and Northwestern University. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1958. She was a school teacher. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Tipton. She was past president of Friends of the Library, Business and Professional Women and Tri Sigma. She served on the Cedar County Fair Board and was a member of First United Church of Christ, Motor, and the 'Holy Bowlers' league and many card clubs. Courthouse; was a long time volunteer for Tipton Track; and was inducted into the Tipton Track Hall of Fame. Survivors include her mother, Jean Rumble of Tipton; her husband; a daughter, Karalee K. Cole and her husband, Kelly, of Solon; sons, Jeff Emrich and his wife, Anne, of Iowa City, Tobin Emrich and his wife, Sharyl, of Rochester, Minn. and Stephen Emrich and his wife, Stacy, of Tipton; grandchildren, Erik, Ryan and McKenna Cole of Solon, Sam and Will Emrich of Iowa City, Ellen and Trey Emrich of Rochester, Grey, Indigo, Ben and Tiger Emrich of Tipton; and a brother, James R. France and his wife, Linda, of Boulder Junction, Wis. She was preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter, Maggie Emrich.
