Garrett is survived by his parents Bill A. Magee Lynne Hambleton-Magee; brother, Corbin Magee; maternal-grandmother, Lois J. Markt; paternal-grandmother, Armida Magee; several aunts, uncles, cousins dear friends. All services were held privately. He spent summers on the North Carolina coast at camp and in the water. He was an excellent swimmer and sailor. He played soccer, baseball and lacrosse. During Garrett's high school and young adult years, he really began to grow into the man he was today. Garrett loved life and was a free spirit. He loved adventure and was a jokester. He was a man of many diverse interests. Garrett loved his music and had assembled a vast digital and vinyl library full of eclectic artists - new and old. camping. He would drive out to the Western US and would camp in the mountains, enjoying the scenery, quiet and beauty. He loved to drive and would not think twice about driving to any place to see the area or visit distant friends. Garrett was an excellent skier and treasured his time in the mountains skiing on deep powder. He relished sharing good food and drink with friends. He was quite a talented chef. And he enjoyed discovering different craft beers and hoped to try his hand at brewing his own beers. Garrett loved his family, and he adored and cherished his close friends. He was quite loyal to his friends whom he often called 'brothers'. Activities that always caught Garrett's interest included: listening to music; camping or being outside; skiing; whittling; reading; driving; walking with Marley; and especially spending time with friends. Garrett's favorite sports teams included the NY Jets, NY Knicks, Buffalo Sabres, UNC Tar Heels, Mets....and is the winner of the 2015 Family (Donnelly/Hambleton) March Madness Basketball Pool. He had a zest for life. It was diverse, eclectic, adventurous, and curious. He marveled and wanted to seek out all that life offered. He sought the true meaning of life. He had a hunger for knowledge and researched masters (past and present) to satisfy his intellectual curiosity. He had a brilliant mind and the special ability to absorb and retain everything he experienced and learned. Garrett easily connected to people from all different ages and walks of life. He left a memorable impression with everyone with whom he came in contact. Garrett was an old soul who was strong, stubborn, resilient and honest as the day is long. He was an adventurer. He loved to travel and spent time with his family overseas and had traveled through much of the US both with his family and by himself. He was a kind person and very loyal to his close group of friends. He would go out of his way to help anyone. He had a determined personality, always researching new opportunities for places to live, places to see, and cultures to experience. Garrett was loved and his unique personality will be missed by many!
