Jacqueline Eaton NEWNAN, Georgia #45;- Jacqueline Gwen Eaton, 65, formerly of Tipton, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at the home of her sister in Newnan, as a result of cancer. Private graveside services are Saturday, May 15, at Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Memorials may be made to the Jacqueline Eaton Memorial Fund for the Arts in care of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 576 Roscoe Road, Newnan, GA 30263. Miss Eaton was born June 29, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of Glenn W. and LaVaughn Eaton. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1956 and Iowa State Teacher's College in 1960. She received a master's degree in education from the University of Missouri. She began teaching at the Iowa School for the Blind in Vinton. After being accepted by the State Department to teach overseas, she taught in Okinawa, Nurnberg, Germany, and Izmir, Turkey. She was voted Outstanding Teacher in the European Area and is listed in Who's Who of American Educators. In 2000, she retired from Cobb County Schools in Marietta, Ga., after 41 years of teaching.
