WARREN ROTH NICHOLS, Iowa - Services for Warren William Roth, 78, of Nichols will be held Monday, June 14, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home in Muscatine. Visitation will Sunday, June 13, 2004, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Warren died Thursday, June 10, at his home in Nichols. He was born on December 10, 1925, in Muscatine, the son of John Herman and Freda Louise (Becker) Roth. He married Patricia Ann Barrett on May 16, 1952, in Muscatine. After graduating from Muscatine High School in 1944, he went to work for Grain Processing in Muscatine. He enlisted in the Army in 1949, and was discharged as a corporal in December of 1951. He began working for Proctor amp; Gamble in Iowa City in 1956 and worked there for more than 34 years, retiring in 1991. Warren had lived in Nichols since 1959 and served as the mayor of the town for 26 years, from 1960 through 1967 and again from 1970 through 1987. He is survived by his wife; children, Ronald Roth of Muscatine, Gale (Don) Doxsie of Davenport, Christine (Steve) Poulsen of West Liberty, Michael (Tami) Roth of West Liberty, Susan (Dave) Nieman of Wilton and Timothy Roth of Nichols; grandchildren, Brooke Roth, Tera Roth, Carl Poulsen, Ryne Doxsie, Emily Doxsie, Dylan Nieman, Lauren Roth and Matt Roth; and one great-grandchild, Bryson Hatfield. Also surviving are a sister, Margaret Glende of Chandler, Arizona, and a brother, George Roth of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Elizabeth Roth and Anita Davis.
