Donna Belle Hughes COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa #45;- Donna Belle Hughes, 68, Columbus Junction, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at the Henry County Health Center, Mount Pleasant, after an extended illness. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. The Rev. Linda Baldwin will officiate. Casket bearers are David Hughes, Matthew Hughes, Adam Hughes, Jason Hughes, Gina Hughes, Andy Leonhard, Corey Leonhard, Zachary Leonhard, Lucas Leonhard, Bobby Leonhard, Mitchell Leonhard, Katie Alman, Nick Pugh and Salina Pugh. Honorary casket bearers are Tony Hughes, Randy Leonhard, Brad Hughes, Ron Leonhard and Rob Leonhard. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today, with family present from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Ms. Hughes was born June 6, 1936, in Columbus Junction, the daughter of Edward and Mary Peters Hughes. She enjoyed all sports and music activities, playing in many contests and spending many hours as a volunteer for different school activities. Survivors include a brother, Leroy Hughes of Columbus Junction; a sister, Geraldine Leonhard and husband, LaVerne 'Bud', of Columbus Junction; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
