Gary McClung

Gary McClung, 79, passed away on January 31, 2021, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Gary was born on July 17, 1941, in Frederick, Oklahoma to his loving parents Ralph and Maxine McClung. After graduating from Westchester High School in Los Angeles, California, he went on to receive his bachelor's degree at UCLA and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He then earned his master's degree in International Relations at USC. Gary proudly served his country as a lieutenant in the United States Army. He was based out of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, and served as the Army Liaison officer to the CIA in the Dominican Republic. From there he went to work for Ford Motor Company in Detroit and Los Angeles until he transitioned to the retail side of the business and became a General Manager and co-owner of South Bay Ford in San Jose and then as co-owner of Midway Ford Truck Center in Kansas City, Missouri. His Ford career spanned over 40 years with many accomplishments. Gary truly lived life to the fullest. His favorite hobbies were golf, tennis, and snow skiing. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lea; his children, Michelle (Doug) Rich of Ohio, Shelly (Jeff) Munden of Missouri, Matthew McClung of Georgia, Steve (Lisa) McClung of Arizona; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Hunter, Skye, Grant, Nicole, Colin, and Steven; his brother, Keith (Patricia) McClung of Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will have a private service in Scottsdale on Saturday, February 13, 2021 and will have a memorial at a later date.
