Gary 'Guff' Kemp Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, funeral home. LETTS, Iowa #45;- Gary 'Guff' Kemp, 57, Letts, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. The Rev. Darryl Erickson will officiate the services. Casket bearers are his nephews, Matt Estabrook, Alan Wilson, Tim Wagner, Denny Kemp, Eric Bramble and Andy Starkweather. Burial will be at the Letts Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Letts Community Hall, Letts. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Kemp was born Nov. 30, 1947, in Grandview, the son of Everett LeRoy and Mary Frances Jackson Kemp. He married Cherolyn L. Rowe on June 3, 1967, in Letts. He remarried Cherolyn on Oct. 18, 1997, in Muscatine. He was employed at HON Company for 33 1/2 years, retiring in November 2002. He enjoyed horseshoe pitching and loved his dog, Ginny. Kemp of Letts; a daughter, Amber Freeman and husband, David, of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Keith, Michael, Justin, Matt, Kory, Trevor and Kristen; a great-grandchild, Dominic; his mother, Mary Frances Kemp of Grandview; six sisters, Charlene Kemp of Columbus Junction, Vera Lou Harvey and husband, Dean, and Connie Sue Fogarty and husband, Gil, all of Surprise, Arizona, Fran Wilson and husband, Dick, of Sun City, Arizinoa, Shirley Bramble of Muscatine, and Debi Estabrook and husband, Ron, of Marshalltown; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Leonard Kemp.
