Gerald Hetzler Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. Visitation: 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, funeral home. MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Gerald A. Hetzler, 82, Muscatine, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport. The Revs. Jaye Johnson, Paul Bryan and Art Carranza will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Robert Hetzler, Kenneth Richman, Lane Freyermuth, Darrell Hetzler, Steven Riexinger and Robert Ernst. Honorary casket bearers are Angela Hetzler, Carole Gordon, Kim Freyermuth, Brian Hetzler, Vicki Daufeldt and Susan Willett. Burial will be at Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church. Memorials may be made to Sweetland United Methodist Church. Mr. Hetzler was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Muscatine County, the son of Arthur Keith and Maria Louise Kemper Hetzler. He married Dorothy Crow April 4, 1943, at Bloomington Friends Church, Muscatine. 1945-47. He was employed at HON Industries for 29 1/2 years before retiring. He was a 50-year member of Sweetland United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge, American Legion, HON Retirees Club, Friends of Melpine School and was the past secretary of the Izaak Walton League. He loved fishing, drag racing and working on cars. He enjoyed the many trips to Colorado with his wife and family for more than 55 years and their trips to Alaska. He had a passion for life and thoroughly enjoyed his family Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas Hetzler and wife, Patricia, of Muscatine; a brother, Raymond Hetzler and wife, Ella Mae, of Muscatine; a sister, Audrey Riexinger and husband, Wendell 'Dean', of Buffalo Prairie, Ill.; two grandchildren, Robert Hetzler and Angela Hetzler; and three great-grandchildren, Britny Hetzler, Taran Hetzler and Justen Vargas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Norma Richman and Anna Marie Freyermuth; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Hetzler.
