Raymond Elden Bettinger

It is with great sadness that we announce our beloved Raymond E. Bettinger, age 88, passed away Wednesday March 3, 2021. He was a wonderful husband and family man. He was born February 6, 1933 in Dayton, OH and lived there for 53 years before moving with family to become a resident of Austin, TX in 1986. Ray also loved traveling with family and visited every state except Hawaii. He even visited almost 40 National Parks with them. He was formerly employed by Chrysler Airtemp as a tool and die maker for 32 years in Dayton. Then, started a second career in Austin as a Realtor and co-owner of ERA Bettinger Realtors in Austin with his wife and three children. He continued working here with his family until 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Dolores R. Bettinger, his father Raymond F. Bettinger, his mother M. Kathryn Bettinger, son Ray J. Bettinger, brother Jack Bettinger and sisters Lois Bettinger, Audrey Howard, JoAnn Hager, Evelyn Hirsch, M. Elaine Mason. he raised Steven Hobbs, Gregory Hobbs, and Mark Hobbs; brother Charles Bettinger (Patricia); fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail Austin, TX 78745, Sunday March 7, 2021 from 2:00 till 3:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 at Funeral Home with cremation following. Donations to The American Heart Association is appreciated in lieu of flowers.
