It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Diane L. (Borges) Tavares announce her passing on March 19th, 2021. Diane passed away at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Joseph S. Tavares, Jr. Diane was born in Taunton on May 14, 1938 to the late Bertha (Munise) and Manuel Borges. Having been a lifelong city resident, Diane was raised & educated in Taunton and a graduate of Taunton High School. Diane worked for Morton Hospital in Taunton for many years as an administrative secretary and a unit clerk. Even after her retirement in 1993, she continued working for Morton Hospital on a per diem basis. Diane enjoyed crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved going for walks and visiting Cape Cod when the weather was nice. In addition to her loving husband Joseph, Diane will forever be remembered by her three children; Joseph J. She was the cherished sister of Patricia Blasek of PA, Ronnie Bettencourt and his wife Norma of Berkley, Joan Botelho of CA, Doreen Henson of MO, the late James, Robert, Arthur, and Joseph Borges and the late Antone "Jeep" Bettencourt. Diane is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be privately held in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, Taunton. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
