Carol Miller Services were: Oct. 10, Oaklawn Chapel at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Sanford, Fla. LONGWOOD, Fla. - Carol Lois Miller, 68, Longwood, died Oct. 4, 2005, at Altamonte Springs Hospital after a long, lingering illness. The Rev. Jim Bradshaw officiated the services. Burial of cremains will be at Memory Gardens, Iowa City, at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at 237 Ruth Blvd., Longwood, FL 32750. Mrs. Miller was born Sept. 16, 1937, near Lone Tree, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Anna Harned. She married Dale F. Miller on Sept. 5, 1956, at the Methodist Church, West Liberty. She attended Hazel Dell School, rural West Liberty, and later the community schools in West Liberty. She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1956. She and her husband lived in the West Liberty, Iowa City and North Liberty prior to moving to the Longwood (Orlando) area in 1989. He husband had been in the automotive repair business and various types of car racing throughout his life. She served as bookkeeper at Dale's Automotive, Iowa City, and was later employed by the University of Iowa in the laundry department followed by employment in food service at ...[more]

Most recently, she and her husband were partners of Personal Touch Tours Inc. in Winter Haven, Fla., of which she was vice president. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sherry Svarda and husband Steve of Longwood and Karen Pierce and husband John of Iowa City; grandchildren, Kristina Mommens, Angela Burrow and husband Frank of Atlanta, Ga. and David Svarda at home with his parents; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Abbigail and Eleanor Catherine Burrow of Atlanta; three sisters, Phyllis Kesler of West Liberty, Barbara Bailey and husband Gary of Kennewick, Wash. and Charlene Albright of Muscatine; and several aunts, uncle and cousins in the Nichols, Lone Tree and Iowa City communities. She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Brian Bailey; and a great-grandson, Joshua.
