Edward Kucera RIVERSIDE, Iowa #45;- Edward J. Kucera, 88, Riverside, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Iowa City Rehabilitation after a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Riverside. The Rev. Rich Adam will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Mike McDole, Leo Zeithamel, Harold Musser, John Metz, Mark Boerjan and Paul Hebl. Honorary casket bearer is Gary Kallaus. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery, Lone Tree. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Iowa City Hospice. Mr. Kucera was born Dec. 3, 1916, in Washington County, the son of James and Anna Florang Kucera. He married Lucille Lavern Aubrecht on Nov. 28, 1940, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lone Tree. She preceded him in death Jan. 28, 2005. He farmed until he retired in 1988. He enjoyed hunting squirrels and quails. Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Moberly of Washington; many nieces and nephews; and his wife's family.
