Jake M. Kroeger

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Visitation: 3-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, funeral home. Jake M. Kroeger, 25, Stockton, died Sunday, Jan, 1, 2006, in Colorado as the result of an avalanche while snowmobiling. The Rev. Ron Huber will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Scott Paustian, Chad Arp, Eric Holst, D.J. Norby, Coy Thiering and Daryl Schwarz. Honorary casket bearers are Matthew Paustian, Steve Thiering and all of his family and friends. Burial will be at the Durant Cemetery, Durant. A memorial has been established. Mr. Kroeger was born Jan. 15, 1980, in Davenport, the son of Jerry and Vicki McKenney Kroeger. He graduated from Durant High School in 1998 and then attended the Wyoming Technical Institute, Laramie, Wyo. He worked at Elder Implement, Durant, as a diesel mechanic and farmed with his dad in Scott County. He had previously worked at Mid-America Diesel, Davenport. He enjoyed tractor pulls, snowmobiling and farming. He also enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands. He could take apart and fix about anything. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy Kroeger; an uncle, Keith Kroeger; and an aunt, Debbie D'Angelo.
