Sandra Gates WEST BRANCH, Iowa -- Sandra L. Gates, 69, West Branch, died suddenly Wednesday June 14, 2006, at her home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, at the West Branch United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scot Patrick will officiate. Family burial of the cremains will be at Downey Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, 201 Pedersen St., West Branch. A memorial fund has been established. Mrs. Gates was born July 18, 1936, in Iowa City, the daughter of Howard and Gladys Thompson Madsen. She married Gale Gates on Feb. 20, 1955. She graduated from West Branch High School in 1954. She had been the administrator for the Cookson Home, West Branch, for many years. She was a member of the West Branch United Methodist Church and Centerdale Coffee Club. She loved being involved with her children and grandchildren.
