David Jones Jr. MUSCATINE, Iowa -- David William Jones Jr., 81, Muscatine, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Memorial Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, River View Center, Muscatine. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date. Mr. Jones was born April 8, 1925, in Muscatine, the son of David L. and Hazel B. Bryant Jones. He married Betty Jean May on Oct. 26, 1946, in Iowa City. He attended Muscatine schools. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed camping, fishing and being with his family. He retired from Engineers Local Union No. 537. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry W. Jones of Muscatine and Kevin W. Jones and wife, Carol, and Kyle W. Jones and wife, Kelly, all of Grandview; two daughters, Pam Pippert and husband, Gary Lee, of Muscatine and Kim Anne Williams and husband, Craig; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his parents, David L. and Hazel B. Jones of Muscatine; two brothers, Robert Jones and Richard Jones, both of Muscatine; and two sisters, Joyce Echenroed of Kansas City, Mo. and Shirley Staley of Muscatine. [more]
