addition to baseball, Howard also played softball in the Red Hook over 40 league for many years. Howard also was accomplished as a basketball player, and played for Rhinebeck Alumni teams for many years, as they played charity games against the Harlem Wizards and played "Donkey" Basketball. He enjoyed going to Broadway shows and was a supporter of the Rhinebeck Theater with his good friend Rita Jean. For decades Howard was a resident of South Street in Rhinebeck, and was active in help local stray that have been left behind- including Opie and Mr. Rabbit to name a few. Howard is survived by his nephews, who was like a father figure to them, they include Thomas (Denise Coon-Mann) Mann of Milan, NY, Michael (Mary Ellen) Mann of Tivoli, NY, and Douglas Mann of Goose Creek, SC. He is also survived by his sister in law Beverly Mann of Red Hook, NY; his great nieces and nephews, Austin, Samara, Olivia, Ryan, Dustin, & Caitlin Mann; along with numerous cousins in the Rhinebeck area, extended family, teammates, colleagues, and friends., A brother, Austin "Tom" Mann, predeceased him. Graveside service will interment will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 13th, 2021 at the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Rhinecliff, NY. Fr. Douglas Crawford will officiate.
