almost perfect. She loved hosting people in their home for delicious meals and overnight stays. Her heart was always willing, open, and full of love. She also lovingly took care of her husband through his illness during his last years. The Bible verse which embodies Edith's gentle spirit is: Proverbs 31:28 "Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Edith is survived by daughter Alana Schrenk of Tempe, son Thomas (wife Kathy) of Greenfield, Indiana, daughter Nancy Kokanovich (husband Jon) of Phoenix, son Steven (wife Kelly) of Chandler, son Richard (wife Jennifer) of Phoenix, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great grandchildren, one brother, Jim Funk of Peoria, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews who called her "Aunt Edie". She is preceded in death by her husband, Allan, and two sisters, Shirley and Sarah. Visitation will be held on May 19, 2021, at Hansen's Mortuary Chapel at 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix, Arizona 85020 at 9am. The funeral service will be at 10 am at the mortuary chapel. Immediately following the service, interment is at Resthaven Cemetery at 4310 E. Southern Avenue, Tempe 85042.
