Joseph Bickett Jr. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maytown, Ill. Visitations: 4-8 p.m. today, with an 8 p.m. rosary, Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, Amboy, Ill.; and 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday, church. Joseph E. Bickett Jr., 71, Sublette, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at Mendota Community Hospital. The Rev. Carl Beekman will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Maytown. A memorial has been established. Mr. Bickett was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Raywick, Ky., the son of Joseph E. and Mary Rita Miles Bickett. He married Grace Schmidt on Dec. 1, 1956, in Arlington, Ill. He was a life long farmer in the Sublette area. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maytown, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of Maytown; a daughter, Indian Bickett of Sublette; a son, Dennis Bickett and wife Lori of Sublette; three grandsons, Matt, Steve and Nick Bickett; a granddaughter, Nicole Lewis; three great-granddaughters, Rebekah, Emma and Sidney; four sisters, Sr. Mary Joseph Bickett O.S.F. of Peoria, Ill., Rita Becker and husband Jim of Muscatine and Joyce Balzer and husband Robert and Barbara...[more]
