A funeral service for Donna Mae Walker, 83, of Algona, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Irvington Presbyterian Church, Irvington. Burial will be held in Riverview Cemetery, Algona. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. The funeral and graveside will be live-streamed on Oakcrest Funeral Services' Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/oakcrestfuneralservices In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kossuth County Dementia Care or Hospice of the Heartland in Algona, in her memory. Donna Mae (Hansen) Walker was born September 25, 1937, in Galbraith, daughter of Rasmie and Olive (Mullin) Hansen. She attended school in Irvington through the 8th grade before attending High School at Algona High, where she graduated. Donna Mae married Durwood Walker on November 25, 1956, at the Irvington Presbyterian Church. Donna Mae had an incredible work ethic. her family, especially with her granddaughters. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, hand work, embroidery work, and making gifts for her family. In the 1940's, Donna Mae and her family began attending the Irvington Presbyterian Church. She was confirmed in this church on October 23, 1949. Donna Mae was very active in the church. For nearly 30 years, she served at the Treasurer of the church. She was also Sunday School teacher, attended bible study, was active in the ladies quilting group, and sang in the choir. In April of 2018, she became a resident of Windsor Manor Assisted Living in Algona. She died there on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the age of 83. She is survived by her two sons, Kevin Walker and his wife Cindy of Algona, and Kirt Walker and his wife Cindy of Columbus, OH; three granddaughters, Maria (Mark) Steier of Whittemore, Rahne (Casey) Onstot of Norwalk, and Bailey (Greg) Allan of Gilbert, AZ; and six great-grandchildren, Charleigh, Kacy, Shaylin and Alice Steier, and Jacey and Kensley Onstot. She is also survived by her sister, Marvel Culbertson of Lone Rock; sisters-in-law, Bernice Walker of Algona, Minnie Walker of Algona, and Viola Hansen of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Durwood on September 1, 2020; sisters, Margaret (Albert) Harms and Shirley (John) Norris; twin brother, Donald Hansen, and brother, Leonard (JoAnn) Hansen.
