James Boland MUSCATINE, Iowa -- James P. Boland, 68, Muscatine, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Carrington Place of Muscatine. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Muscatine, is handling the arrangements. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Boland was born March 5, 1938, the son of Orville F. and Marie E. Behrens Boland. He married Carolyn McCallister Goddard on September 6, 1969, at St. Mathias Church, Muscatine. He was a 1957 graduate of Hayes Catholic High School. He was employed at Roach and Musser for many years before going to work for HON Industries. He retired from HON in 1979 after 20 years of employment. He was a past member of the Old Geezer Coffee Club at Hy-Vee. You could often hear him on the "Buy, Sell and Trade" radio show where Ron dubbed him the birdman. He enjoyed toying with his model trains. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Boland of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leonard L. Boland. [more]
