n Europe. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and upon retiring from there he was a service man for Montgomery Ward. He then worked as a maintenance man for the Muscatine Health Clinic. His hobbies were photography, having neighborhood children come and visit him and teaching the boys how to repair small engines such as lawn mowers. He enjoyed being able to help his family, neighbors and friends as a handy man. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Holy Land. He was a member of First Christian Church, where he had served as a deacon, CYF sponsor, Cub Scout leader, and president of the Christian Men's Fellowship. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Irwin of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Chatfield Morse and Dorothy Tisor; and four brothers, Eddie in infancy, Walter, Fred and Raymond Irwin.
