Seema Kahn Davis died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on June 16, 2021. Seema is survived by her daughter, Paula (and Happy) Katz, Gary (and Amy) Davis, and by her grandchildren, Jerry Davis, Gina (and Brad) Dennen, Starr (and Steve) Davey, Daniel (and Kate) Katz, Melissa Davis, David Davis, Daniel (and Traci) Davis, Jeffrey (and Ann) Davis, Sam (and Ivy) Davis, Stephanie Davis, and Joey Davis and many great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sol Davis, her son, Steven Davis, and her parents, Rose and Dan Kahn. Seema was a shining light in the family. In her quiet, positive way, she encouraged and supported her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was loved and adored by all her relatives and friends, and most especially by her husband, Sol. Seema and Sol traveled the world together with friends and family. Everywhere they went, they made new friends that became part of their greater mispacha. day school, was president of the Sisterhood, baked for special occasions, and helped create the many skits the Sisterhood enjoyed presenting. Seema especially enjoyed writing the parodies for the musicals. She often could be found at her piano, creating new lyrics. Family was important to Seema and Sol. Returning to Houston for the holidays, Seema cooked and baked everything for every celebration. She made sure that everyone was included and felt special. Relatives and friends came from far and near to celebrate with them. Seema and Sol spent many years in the New York area. Seema loved when her grandchildren came to visit. She took them to the theater, and afterwards they always went out for a special treat. She shared her elegant sense of style with her grandchildren, exploring the boutiques and stores of NYC, China, and Hong Kong. Seema also enjoyed decorating, and her sense of beauty was evident in their home. She loved shopping for furniture and other decorative items in China, making purchases for friends as well. The family is especially grateful to Irma Torres, Seema's loving companion and caretaker. Irma lovingly cared for Sol and Seema for many years. Funeral service will be held at Emanu El Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Shiva will be observed at the home of Amy and Gary Davis.
