Mark Anthony Huron

Mark A. Huron, passed away at the age of 60 years old in Houston, Texas on June 10th , 2021. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Hector and Yolanda Huron. Mark attended Robert E. Lee High School and Texas A&M University before serving in the United States Army Corp of Engineers for almost 24 years. While attending Texas A&M, Mark met Lachelle, "Latchbag", of Irving, Texas and in 1985, they married. Together, they had two children, Courtney of Arlington, Virginia and Cameron of Houston, Texas. Mark is survived by his wife of 36 years, his dad, Hector Huron, his brother, Gilbert Huron, two sisters, Leti Manuel and Margo Guebara. Mark retired from the military at the rank of Colonel in 2007 and moved to Austin, Texas, where he briefly worked for My Rewards. He then transitioned to a career with General Dynamics where he led and served as a civilian in a military setting. Mark received prestigious awards for service to our country, but he would quickly say that his greatest reward this side of heaven was seeing individuals thrive in their God given value, talents, and abilities. plishments was knowing how to love those he led. He allowed God to communicate through him the individual's worth and value. We all know that Mark loved Texas Aggie football. He described his dream job after retirement. "I just want to be that guy that walks along behind Jackie Sherrill, on the sidelines of Kyle Field, and rolls up the cord to his headset." Lachelle cared for Mark during the last four years of his life after a sudden heart attack that left him with a severe brain injury. Mark peacefully lived his remaining years in Houston with his wife and the support of his caregiver team. Countless people have begged the Lord to heal Mark. And so, we know from the very words of God, that in this exact moment, Mark is enjoying his complete healing in the presence of our LORD. Mark was a kind, loving husband and father, devoted soldier, and faithful leader. A special thanks to Mark's sister, Margo, and the compassionate men and women who cared for him at the end of his life. Mark's family and church community will be hosting a memorial service at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 19 at the Austin Stone Northwest Campus in Austin, Texas. His burial will be held on June 30 at 2:30pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
