Terry Ellis Davis

After a long battle with Covid-19, exacerbated by pneumonia, Terry Ellis Davis, 77, joined his eternal companion RaeDawn Davis in heaven on Saturday, June 19, 2021. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Terry was born in Venice, Utah on September 17, 1943 and grew up in the greater Salt Lake area. In May 1964 he met his lifelong sweetheart on a blind date set up by mutual friends and the couple was married in November of that same year in Granger, Utah. In June 1966, Terry and RaeDawn were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. They adopted their daughter CaSandra (then Davis) in March 1967 and their son Jeffrey Davis in December 1971. Terry was a proud American patriot and made a career for himself in the United States military. In 1962, at the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and served aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea for two years off the coast of Naha, Okinawa, Japan. Before being discharged from the Navy in 1966, he was also stationed in California, Hawaii, the Philippines, and the Gulf of Tonkin. ving at Hill Air Force Base for 10 years. He followed that with two additional years in the Utah Army National Guard from 1977-1979 before he moved to Arizona where he served at Luke Air Force Base. He worked at Luke Air Force Base from 1979-1998, through Operation Desert Storm, where he retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. He continued to work at Luke Air Force Base in civil service until he retired as a civilian in 2004. Terry is survived by his siblings, Tom Parker, Ron Parker, Jon Parker, Marilyn Hamblen, Mary Parker and their families, his children CaSandra Pritchett and Jeffrey Davis and their spouses; 5 grandchildren and 2 spouses; 8 great-grandchildren and several additional nieces, nephews and close friends. Burial services will be held for immediate family only on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 2:00pm at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
