James Lowe Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. today, June 28, funeral home. MUSCATINE, Iowa -- James "Junker Jim" L. Lowe, 68, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Unity Hospital. The Rev. Mark Clark of Hillcrest Baptist Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Jeff Schmidt, Bill Rethamel, Doug Buster, Jeff Murphy, Rodney Kleindolph, Kenny Honts, Vaughn McGrew and Ed Rick. Honorary casketbearers will be Howard Schmelzer, Larry Ulch, Jack Connor, Glen Anderson and Shorty Todd. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the internment, a time of food and fellowship will be at the Moose Lodge in Muscatine. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Lowe was born Feb. 4, 1939, the son of James Vernon and Lois (Dallmeyer) Lowe in Letts. He married Marilyn Jean McGrew June 22, 1957, in Muscatine. He was the owner of Muscatine Tire and Wheel from 1979 until his retirement. He then worked with his nephew and special friend, Doug Buster, at Fabricating Plus. He will be deeply missed by his wife; a son, Gary William Lowe and his wife, Rhonda, of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Amber of Moline and Miranda and Michael Lowe of Muscatine; two sisters, Pauline Morse of Winfield and Ardis Rick of Muscatine; good friends, Howard Schmelzer, Jack Connor, Larry Ulch, Glen Anderson, Shorty Todd and all his Hy-Vee breakfast friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Lee Lowe; a brother, William P. Lowe; and two sisters, Jean Merdith and Shirley Ann Lowe in infancy.
