Caroline Hazel Hendricks, daughter of Berthinus and Marie Petersen Tollefsrud, was born March 28, 919, in Ulen, Minnesota. She moved to Iowa by train in 1926 and attended New Liberty country schools. Caroline was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton. Caroline married Herman Eserhaut, they later divorced. On August 19, 1972, Caroline married Aloysius Hendricks in Rock Island, Illinois.
Caroline worked as a waitress in many restaurants and was employed at the University of Iowa Hospital. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, bowling, quilting, crafts and the many hours she spent caring for her flowers.
Caroline is survived by her son, Raymond (Jean) Eserhaut of Tipton, Iowa; grandson, Ray Jr. (Becky) Eserhaut of Grandview, Iowa; granddaughter, Robin (Dan) Waltz of Fairfax, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Drake, Hunter, Allyson, Bryanna, and Ethan; sisters, Madeline (Tom) Andress of Silvis, Illinois, Grace Countryman of Tipton, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; 3 step-children and extended families; and her forever bowling friends.
