o him; he was an avid runner, who swam daily and ate judiciously. He completed seven Bix 7s and competed in every Muscatine YMCA mini triathlon. His travels took him all across the United States and around the world. He was fastidious in maintaining friendships and retaining relationships. Among the many he counted as friends were Bob Stohr, Don Miller, George Wecksung, Charlie McIntire, Ludy Lenz, and Glen Davis. His many letters will be cherished by their recipients for their wit and charm. Pithy, inventive, and pertinent, his interpretations of events and concepts were expressed with wonderful insight and a great aptitude for language. He was stubborn, domineering, opinionated, and sarcastic. He was also loving, generous, and tremendously supportive. Part of his legacy to his descendents will be the pride and sense of enterprise those qualities engendered in them.
