ROY 'GENE' FREDERICK MUSCATINE, Iowa - Roy Eugene 'Gene' Frederick, 71, of Muscatine, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Unity Hospital. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 'Gene' was born on January 19, 1937, in Powdery, Texas, the son of W. S. and Dorothy L. Thomas Frederick. He married Jacqueline Land on March 3, 2003, in West Port, Washington. He worked for Texas Utilities as an electrical engineer for 32 years before retirement. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Frederick of Muscatine; one son, Bobby 'Royce' Frederick of Longview, Texas; two step-sons, Bobby 'George' Knutt of Longview, Texas, and Scott Land of Letts; and two step-daughters, Stacy Taylor and husband, Duane, of Muscatine, and Deborah Holtz and husband, Dale, of Muscatine.
