Walter S. Stager

RENSSELAER - Walter S. Stager, 54, of Rensselaer, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at At Home in Rensselaer. Walter was born December 26, 1966, in Albany, New York, the son of Cecilia (Turmel) Stager and the late Walter D. Stager. He was a 1st Class Mechanic for CDTA for 29 years before retiring in 2020 due to illness. Walt was an avid Hunter and enjoyed playing the drums, listening to music and watching NASCAR. Survivors include his mother Cecilia Stager, siblings Fran (Gene) Welsh, Edward Stager, Joseph (Julie) Stager, Karen (Elmer) Stager, Kenneth (Donna) Stager, Lorie (Ray) Stager, Donna (Russ) Blocksidge, Maureen (Jerry) Freemantle. He was Predeceased by his siblings Robert Stager, Nancy Wright, Thomas Stager Friends and family are invited to attend his calling hours Friday evening 4-7 at the Rockefeller funeral home 165 Colubia Tpk Rensselaer. The family has requested that masks be worn while attending services. Graveside services will be 11 o'clock monday morning at the New Rural cemetery.
